Devai Lunga makes Club World Cup history


The "Brazilians" defender has forever etched his name in the tournament's history books
Details: Devai Lunga has become the first-ever participant from Zimbabwe in the history of the Club World Cup.
The 30-year-old left back of Mamelodi Sundowns and the Zimbabwe national team has made his mark not only as a reliable and committed defender, but also as a true trailblazer, becoming a symbol of a historic milestone for his country.
Devai joined Sundowns in 2021 and has since made 43 appearances for the club.
After winning their opening match under the guidance of Miguel Cardoso, Mamelodi Sundowns took the lead in Group F.
The Sundowns also became the first African team to claim victory in matches of the tournament's main stage.
