Zuko Mdunyelwa has highlighted that Miguel Cardoso gave them the ins and outs of how Esperance play ahead of tomorrow’s Caf Champions League second leg semi-final clash.

Mdunyelwa said that Cardoso is a former Esperance coach comes in handy for the game at a sold out Loftus Versveld as the Sundowns gaffer was once in charge of Esperance.

"It's very crucial for us because he gave us a little bit of insight and things that you cannot see when you watch the game about the players' details. So, for me it all boils down to the details that he gives us to the games,” Mdunyelwa told the SABC.

“We are expecting them to come out guns blazing because it's do or die for them and for us but considering the fact that we will be playing a home game, we will take advantage of that."

The former Chippa United defender said this competition gives them an opportunity to clinch a trophy for the team and also for them as players.

Sundowns have an opportunity to reach their second Caf Champions League final for the second time in succession having lost last year’s final against Egyptian side Pyramids.

"The talk amongst the players is to understand that the assignment is not done as yet. The away game was just the first half and the second half is coming up on Saturday. It actually comes from the coach that in such games when it's high pressure games us as players we should just go inside and enjoy ourselves,” Mdunyelwa said.

“So, it takes away the pressure but games like this always have pressure on their own because as a player you want to achieve something for the club and for yourself."

The game starts at 3pm.
