Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso on their clash against Stellenbosch FC: Our focus has shifted from the Caf Champions League now to the PSL
Miguel Cardoso has admitted his focus has shifted from the Caf Champions League to the Betway Premiership.
Cardoso and his Mamelodi Sundowns troops have made it to the continental premier’s tournament final after beating Esperance over the weekend but the Portuguese coach has admitted that’s no longer in his head.
Only team in his head are Sundowns’ opponents tomorrow, Stellenbosch FC, whom they face in the PSL outing.
A victory over Stellies in Pretoria will see the Brazilians reclaim their top of the table spot as they trail Orlando Pirates – who are on top – with two points.
“And having a positive approach is always very important. Look one thing that’s in my head now is Stellenbosch on Wednesday, nothing more in my head! I will sleep very well, have dinner with my assistants, and then Stellenbosch,” said Cardoso.
“After Stellenbosch, it’s Richards Bay, after Richards Bay, Polokwane, and after Polokwane, Polokwane – that’s what we have to do, seven matches in 21 days, nobody in the world, but we will do it. That’s my thoughts.”
Tomorrow’s match starts at 7.30pm at Loftus Versveld.
