Mamelodi Sundowns defender urges experienced teammates to step up for Pyramids clash in Egypt

In the first leg of the CAF Champions League final, Mamelodi Sundowns failed to secure an advantage ahead of their away fixture against Pyramids, leaving everything to be decided in Egypt. However, the Brazilians’ defender Motobi Mvala stepped forward with an important message ahead of the decisive game.
Details: Mvala called on the team’s more experienced players to motivate the younger squad members, emphasizing that since the first match went well, it’s crucial to finish what they started.
Quote: “We need experienced players to come into the game, especially in the dressing room, to push the guys and help us win this match. We’ve already played Pyramids, and it’s not going to be an easy game because we need to get a result away from home. We know they don’t have that many supporters, and that might work to our advantage. We need to step onto the pitch and work hard from the first minute until the final whistle.
In the first match, we started well, not allowing Pyramids to deliver balls into our penalty area. But in the closing minutes, we lost our concentration. We allowed that cross, and our marking wasn’t good enough. That’s something we need to fix for the second leg. We have to finish the job in Cairo, and to do that, we need to score more goals,” Mvala stated.
