Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso keeps on crying over schedule of matches: We cannot be playing PSL before a crucial Caf Champiions League match
Miguel Cardoso probably did not know what he is getting himself into when he accepted the Mamelodi Sundowns job.
Cardoso has been crying foul over the game schedule Sundowns endures like his predecessors did not have the same predicament.
Off all the Betway Premiership teams, season in and season out, Sundowns are one club which plays many games more than any outfit.
So for Cardoso to keep crying about the number of games as if it’s done on purpose it’s kind of being a cry baby and looking for excuses should he fail to go past Stade De Malian in the Caf Champions League.
Cardoso was adamant Sundowns were not supposed to play last night against Orbit College as they play a Caf game on Friday night at home.
Perhaps he should have known what kind of a club Sundowns are when he accepted the offer to coach at Chloorkop.
“I think today is a little bit of a dark day for football in South Africa,” said Cardoso on SuperSport TV.
“And we are not pleased about the situation that we were put in. It’s clear.
“I think no one should be in South Africa able to play a Champions League match and have to play a Championship match three days before. I think it’s something that South Africa needs to think about.
“Everybody should be provided conditions to be successful in representing the country in the international level and we were not rewarded with that.”
“But we keep strong. We are going to fight.”
