Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi believes Mamelodi Sundowns will be crowned Betway Premiership champions despite the Orlando Pirates challenge

Manqoba Mngqithi believes Mamelodi Sundowns have what it takes to successfully defend their Betway Premiership title.

Mngqithi said his former employers have the playing personnel needed to ensure the PSL title does not slip through their fingers.

The Golden Arrows gaffer acknowledged Orlando Pirates’ potential to challenge for the PSL title this season.

But Mngqithi maintained Sundowns are a team with a huge squad to handle the gruelling schedule and demand to win the title.

Pirates are atop of the Betway Premiership standings with both teams on 44 points after playing same number of matches, 19.

The Sea Robbers’ superior goal difference puts them ahead of the Brazilians.

"I've always believed that Sundowns have got what it takes to win the league and I’ve always said it. I'm not mincing my words, because even if you look at the players who weren't on the bench, that team has got what it takes,” Mngqithi said.

Sundowns face Orbit College this evening while Pirates face Richards Bay at Orlando Stadium tomorrow.
