Cerundolo is writing a new chapter in tennis history.

Details: Today, in the Round of 64 at Roland Garros, 24-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner, the current world No. 1, suffered a stunning defeat to Argentina's Juan Manuel Cerundolo, ranked 56th in the world.

The match began entirely in Sinner’s favor, as he confidently took a 2-0 lead, winning the first two sets 6-3, 6-2. But then, everything went off script. At one point, Sinner called for a medical timeout and grabbed the back of his thigh.

The timeout did nothing to help Sinner, and Cerundolo turned the tide, dominating Sinner three times in a row with a scoreline of 6-1.

In the Round of 32, Cerundolo will face the winner of the Landaluce vs. Kopriva match.
