Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho has been found to have committed tax violations between 2010 and 2012, as reported by AS.

The Portuguese coach is liable for €881,368. Initially, it could have amounted to around €1.5 million, but an additional €571,000 could not be disputed due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. Reportedly, in 2016, a report was drawn up stating that Mourinho had concealed the fact that Real Madrid was responsible for payments to Mendes' agency, rather than the coach himself being accountable for their issuance.

In 2018, Jose Mourinho reached an agreement with the tax authorities to avoid a court hearing following two anticipated tax infringements. The coach admitted guilt and agreed to a one-year prison sentence, in addition to paying €669,232 on top of the previous €4.4 million.

It is worth recalling that AS Roma officially bid farewell to Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff on January 16, 2024. The club's management thanked Mourinho for his work but acknowledged that immediate changes were necessary in the club's interests. They also wished the Portuguese coach and his staff all the best in the future.
