Indomitable Lionesses begin training camp in Yaoundé

The African champions have returned to the pitch two months after their historic triumph at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. A squad of 29 Indomitable Lionesses, mainly comprising players from the domestic league, began a training camp on Monday at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Yaoundé.

On this first day of the camp, the players called up by Valentine Nguele’s coaching staff took part in a training session at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé. The programme continues this Tuesday with a friendly match scheduled for 4 pm local time, again at the Military Stadium.

This gathering marks the Indomitable Lionesses’ first training camp since their historic victory at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. It is a first opportunity for the coaching staff to continue working with the players, particularly those from the national league.

This squad, which is largely made up of local players, offers an opportunity to identify talent and expand the squad following the continental title. The Indomitable Lionesses could see further reinforcements drawn from the domestic league.
