CAF Awards 2026: Monique Ngock and two Cameroonian teammates nominated for Women’s Player of the Year
Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga, Michaely Bihina and Monique Ngock are among the ten players named on Tuesday 3 November by CAF as nominees for the African Women’s Player of the Year award. The three Indomitable Lionesses each played a key role in Cameroon’s historic victory at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Midfielder Monique Ngock played a pivotal role in Cameroon’s run to the final. She was awarded the title of Player of the Tournament for her overall performance.
Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina, for her part, had an exceptional tournament. Cameroon conceded just two goals in six matches on their way to the title, and this was largely down to her. Bihina did not concede a single goal after the group stage. She finished the competition by winning the award for best goalkeeper.
Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga also distinguished herself. She was named Woman of the Match in the final, which Cameroon won against Malawi. All three players are now in the running for this prestigious individual CAF award.
