There is fierce competition for the broadcasting rights to UEFA’s top club tournaments, and in one European country the rights holder is set to change.
Details: According to DH Les Sports, UEFA’s three major competitions — the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League — will be broadcast in Belgium on Disney+. The new deal will come into effect from 2027.
Meanwhile, an extraordinary situation is developing around Atlético Madrid’s potential qualification for the 2026 Champions League final. If the club reaches the final, Atlético could be forced to rent another venue to host a fan zone and screen the match for supporters.
Reminder: Benfica midfielder Gianluca Prestianni has spoken about a heated incident involving Vinícius Júnior during a Champions League knockout match. The Argentine claims he was insulted by the Real Madrid winger, as well as by Kylian Mbappé.
