“I didn't know there was such chaos.” Mokwena lifts the lid on life at Wydad

Recently, South African coach Rhulani Mokwena left Moroccan side Wydad. On paper, a club that competes in the Club World Cup should be a model of order. But Mokwena saw things from a very different angle.
Details: The former Wydad head coach revealed that the club was engulfed in utter chaos, compounded by a transfer ban, which made his job extremely difficult.
Quote: “The noise around the club grew so loud that even the president became confused and tried to convince people that we had a project. They said we signed 29 players, but in reality, we had to—there were only two players left in the squad.
The club was under a transfer ban. I didn't know there was such chaos. I didn't know all the players had left. One day a player would show up for training, and the next day he was gone. A week later, five more would leave because of the ban,” the coach told Soccer Africa in an interview.
Reminder: Currently, Mokwena is being linked with another South African football giant—Egyptian side Pyramids.
