Hugo Broos, the head coach of Bafana Bafana, has disclosed his ambitions for South Africa to advance to the FIFA World Cup in 2026, which the United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host.

With seven points from four games, South Africa is level with Rwanda and Benin for second place in Group C of the African qualifiers.

Africa will now have nine berths in the World Cup, which has been enlarged to 48 nations, and Broos feels confident in South Africa's prospects.

In order to qualify, Broos stated, "If we have 16-17 points, we should qualify," highlighting the significance of winning the remaining games in March. Bafana Bafana will play Lesotho at home on March 17 before heading to Ivory Coast to face Benin on March 24.

Young talent has also been closely watched by Broos, like as emerging sensation Relebohile Mofokeng, whose outstanding performances at Orlando Pirates have drawn interest from teams around the world, including Barcelona and Rangers.

The coach is realistic about his stay, saying he would resign if South Africa did not make it to the World Cup. He encourages the players and supporters to keep their eyes on the prize, though, and is upbeat about the team's development.
