Gavin Hunt sees Orlando Pirates strength on their bench this afternoon as having a strong bench ahead of Durban City's clash with Pirates
Gavin Hunt sees his Durban City clash against high flying Orlando Pirates as one which will have all the basics of a football game.
“When we don’t have the ball, we will defend but when we get it, we will create chances like they will get chances like in a football match. I don’t think anything changes there. I will deny them, they will also deny us, it’s pretty basic,” he said ahead of their Betway Premiership clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Hunt though, mentioned how and where Pirate danger lies.
“I think the strength of theirs is when they play around the box. Isn’t? We saw that again on Tuesday against Chippa United,” said Hunt.
“You can talk about it all day and analyse it and know how they move but when the game is moving, the ball is moving, you need to be switched on and concentrate.
“But you also have to have a threat to go the other way. You don’t have to just sit it out. We have to try and create chances ourselves.
“But their strength is on the bench, you look at impact they bring on, that’s important for them.”
The match has implications to what happens at the top of the PSL as a win for Pirates means they overtake Sundowns on top of the standings as they will go on 28 points and a win for Durban City will take them to 22 points.
So the above suggest that the City and Pirates match will not be as basic.
The match starts at 3.30pm.
