The South African Betway Premiership hosted its matchday 14 fixtures from November 28 to 30.

Friday saw Richards Bay claim a 2-0 home win over AmaZulu to kick off the round. The following day, both the Polokwane vs TS Galaxy and Siwelele vs Chippa United encounters ended goalless. Elsewhere, Orlando Pirates overcame Durban City to climb to the top of the table.

On Sunday, Marumo Gallants and Magesi traded goals but couldn’t find a winner. Due to Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, and Stellenbosch participating in continental competitions, their matchday 14 games have been rescheduled for January 2026.

Dailysports unveils the team of the week for matchday 14 of the South African Betway Premiership.

Goalkeeper: Elvis Chipezeze (Magesi)

The 35-year-old Zimbabwe international put on a stellar performance against Marumo, allowing his side to snatch a point. Chipezeze was commanding in the box and made five saves, denying the opposition victory despite their clear advantage. All these factors made Chipezeze the man of the match.

Left-back: Nkosikhona Ndaba (Orlando Pirates)

Ndaba hasn’t featured much this season, but whenever he’s on the pitch, he gives coach Ouaddou no cause for concern. After moving from Richards Bay, he often finds himself behind Hotto in the pecking order, but against Durban he showcased his full potential. Ndaba impressed with sharp dribbling and a high duel-win percentage.

Centre-back: Nathan Idumba Fasika (Chippa United)

Since joining from Cape Town City, Fasika has cemented his spot at the heart of Chippa United’s defense. It’s been a tough season for the club, but recent matches have seen an improvement at the back. The experienced defender was a rock in the clash with Siwelele, registering 1 tackle, 11 clearances, and winning all 9 aerial duels.

Centre-back: Diteboho Mofokeng (Magesi)

Diteboho Mofokeng made his third appearance for Magesi and his second consecutive start. The talented defender was pivotal in defense, recording 2 interceptions and 3 tackles. He also blocked a shot and won 6 out of 7 duels.

Right-back: Tholo Thabang Matuludi (Polokwane City)

Fresh off his Bafana Bafana debut, Matuludi delivered another solid outing for Polokwane. Against TS Galaxy, he was excellent in his defensive duties, making 2 tackles, 1 interception, and 6 clearances. He was also impressive in duels, whipped crosses into the box, dribbled confidently, and covered a tremendous amount of ground.

Central midfielder: Moses Mthembu (Richards Bay)

Mthembu played a crucial role in Richards Bay’s triumph over AmaZulu. The 24-year-old netted his first goal of the season and was a constant threat in attack. Moses was strong in duels, tested the keeper, delivered incisive passes, and bagged the match-winning goal.

Central midfielder: Patrick Maswanganyi (Orlando Pirates)

Maswanganyi returned to the Pirates’ starting XI for the first time in a month and immediately made his mark. The midfielder stood out with creative plays and was instrumental in build-up. He netted the team’s second goal—his fourth of the season.

Central midfielder: Jaisen Clifford (Marumo Gallants)

Clifford once again played the role of super sub and helped Marumo earn a positive result. The 29-year-old was thrown into action midway through the first half and, just seven minutes after coming on, leveled the score. That was his third goal of the season—all of them coming off the bench.

Left winger: Relebohile Mofokeng (Orlando Pirates)

The Pirates’ star is having a mixed season, still searching for his first goal of the campaign. At times, Mofokeng flashes the brilliance of last year, and the Durban match was one such occasion. Rele was a constant menace, firing shots, threading dangerous passes, and creating two clear-cut chances. It was Mofokeng who set up the match-winning goal.

Right winger: Wandile Ngema (Richards Bay)

Ngema hadn’t found the net since September, but he once again took charge for Richards Bay against AmaZulu. He was the most dangerous player on the pitch, driving forward, whipping in crosses, and testing the keeper. Ngema made five key passes and sealed the win in the 84th minute with a strike from the edge of the box, earning man of the match honors.

Centre forward: Evidence Makgopa (Orlando Pirates)

Makgopa came off the bench to score the winner against Chippa United last time out, earning a spot in the starting lineup. Against Durban, the striker repaid his manager’s trust, once again netting the decisive goal. Midway through the first half, Makgopa latched onto Mofokeng’s assist to score his fifth goal of the season.

Head coach: Abdeslam Ouaddou (Orlando Pirates)

Once again, our editorial team selects the Pirates’ boss as coach of the week. It’s no surprise, as his side is playing the best football in the league, sweeping aside opponents one after another. Ouaddou masterfully rotates his squad, ensuring Orlando maintains its quality and keeps racking up wins. The Pirates have gone unbeaten in the Betway Premiership for three and a half months, and after matchday 14, they stand alone atop the table.
