Foster Strike Seals South Africa Afcon Win

Lyle Foster scored the decisive goal as South Africa edged Angola 2-1 in an entertaining Group B match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Marrakesh. Oswin Appollis had earlier put Bafana Bafana ahead after capitalising on a loose ball midway through the first half.

Angola responded strongly and drew level before the break when Show flicked home Fredy’s free-kick. With the game finely balanced, Foster curled a superb effort from the edge of the box on 79 minutes.

The win preserved South Africa’s unbeaten Afcon record against Angola. South Africa next face Egypt, while Angola meet Zimbabwe in their opening group fixture.
