Former world number one Victoria Azarenka (WTA 16) from Belarus, competing under a neutral status, has withdrawn from Wimbledon 2024 due to a shoulder injury.

This same injury also forced fellow Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka to miss the British major.

Azarenka was set to begin her campaign on July 1. She has been replaced in the main draw by lucky loser Elsa Jacquemot (France, WTA 151), who went on to lose her first-round match against Sloane Stephens (USA, WTA 50) with a score of 3-6, 3-6.
