Former NFL star Jay Cutler arrested for drunk driving with loaded Glock on car console
Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler has been arrested by police on multiple charges.
Details: The 41-year-old ex-player, who previously played for the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins, spent some time in a Tennessee jail after being detained for driving under the influence and possession of a firearm, according to TMZ.com. Other charges included failure to exercise due care, violating the implied consent law, and possessing a handgun while intoxicated.
Cutler posted a $5,000 bond to be released from jail.
Police claim that Cutler was driving his car in reverse while intoxicated. After a minor crash, he allegedly attempted to pay off the other driver with $2,000 to avoid involving the police.
When officers arrived at the scene, Cutler initially claimed he hadn’t been drinking but later changed his story, admitting to having "a little to drink." After refusing field sobriety tests, he was arrested.
Inside the former NFL star’s vehicle, officers found a rifle on the back seat and a loaded Glock handgun on the center console.
His court date has been set for January 2025.
