The Canadian Football Association continues its search for a head coach to prepare the national team for the home World Cup in 2026.

After rejections from José Mourinho and Frank Lampard, Canadians have initiated negotiations with two other candidates.

According to Nizaar Kinsella, the new priority option for the Canadian team is former Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been without a job since November 2021.

If an agreement with the Norwegian cannot be reached, the second option is former coach of Leeds, RB Leipzig, and Red Bull Salzburg, Jesse Marsch.

The Canadian national team has been without a head coach since John Herdman resigned in September 2023.

In the summer, Canada will participate in the Copa America 2024, where their group stage opponents will be Argentina, Chile, and Peru.
