Arsenal are on the verge of pulling off one of the most sensational transfers of this summer. According to ESPN Brasil, the London club has reached an agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of Brazil international midfielder Bruno Guimarães.
The Gunners are reportedly set to pay £70 million in guaranteed payments for the 28-year-old midfielder. An additional £10 million is included as performance-related bonuses, bringing the total value of the deal to a possible £80 million.
Guimarães is expected to arrive in London as early as this weekend to undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract with the reigning Premier League champions.
According to sources, the player's own desire to join Arsenal played a crucial role in finalizing the negotiations. Furthermore, Newcastle were willing to accommodate the transfer after the team failed to qualify for the 2026/27 Champions League.
Bruno Guimarães has been with the Magpies since January 2022 and, during this time, has established himself as one of the team's key leaders and one of the Premier League's top central midfielders.
