As Ivory Coast face Curaçao this Thursday, 25 June, in their final group stage match, the Ivorian manager reiterated his team’s ambitions.

The Ivory Coast Elephants could secure their place in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup on 25 June in Group E. The Ivory Coast side have three points to their name following their 1–0 victory over Ecuador in their opening group stage match. Facing Curaçao this Thursday at 8 pm GMT, Ivory Coast can secure their place in the round of 32.

When asked what qualifying for the knockout stages would mean, Emerse Faé insisted that his team is aiming for much more than simply getting through the first round.

“For the team, and for the country, it would be a source of pride to get through the first round. But I think we’re more ambitious than that. We’ll continue to look to the future and try to achieve the goal we’ve set ourselves, which is to go as far as possible in this competition.”
