You would expect Pitso Dladla to start talking about his availability for the Durban City coaching vacancy.

You would expect him to highlight how good of a coach he is because he just guided the Kwa-Zulu Natal side to the Nedbank Cup final.

They won 1-0 on Saturday against Casric Stars at Chatsworth Stadium.

But not so for the current interim Durban City coach who said his development academically takes precedent than being appointed permanently at the club.

City are in a healthy fifth spot in the PSL table and look set for a top eight finish with also possibilities of winning the Cup final where they will face TS Galaxy.

“That’s what…that question always comes but I don’t know how I should answer that one because it’s clear,” said Dladla.

“And I want to make things clear, so people don’t talk what they think, they don’t talk wrong things.

“I’ve got personal ambitions as a coach, I still want to achieve them, and I’ve never hidden the fact that I’ve missed opportunities to do my CAF licence because I have commitments here in the team.

“I’m still waiting for that chance but that is the most important thing for me personally.”
