Almost all participants of the 2026 World Cup have already been determined, with only the qualification play-offs and the group-stage draw left ahead of us. And it is the draw that comes next.

On Friday, 5 December, the draw for the 2026 World Cup will take place, defining all groups and clarifying who will face whom. The ceremony is set to feature American celebrities and, possibly, the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

The FIFA World Cup will be held next summer — in June and July 2026. The tournament will take place across three countries: the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Before the draw, the teams are divided into four pots. The national sides will be allocated into 12 groups of four teams each.

Pots for the 2026 World Cup draw

  • Pot 1: Canada, Mexico, USA, Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany
  • Pot 2: Croatia, Morocco, Colombia, Uruguay, Switzerland, Japan, Senegal, Iran, Republic of Korea, Ecuador, Austria, Australia
