On January 14, the leader of the ATP rankings, Novak Djokovic (Serbia), commenced his journey at the Australian Open 2024.

In the 1/64 finals, the Serbian tennis maestro triumphed in a challenging match against the 18-year-old Dino Prizmic (Croatia, ATP 1). The encounter concluded in four sets after a four-hour battle.

"He deserves all the applause he received today. He is an amazing player, remarkably mature for his age. He handled himself incredibly well. This could have been his moment, to be honest. In the third set, he was down a break, but he fought back.

He displayed excellent mentality and resilience. Today, he made me work hard. I have a lot of praise and compliments for him. I like how he utilizes every inch of the court. He feels comfortable stepping into the game, and he defends incredibly well. It's an amazing performance for someone who is 18 years old and has never experienced playing on the big stage.

Many thanks to him, his team, and his family. I definitely want to be on his team. I hope he invites me to join his team because he is going to achieve great success in his career," stated Djokovic.
