Details: Former NBA player Ty Lawson has found himself at the center of yet another scandal. According to the New York Post, the athlete was detained after stealing a $34 bottle of Tito's vodka.
Reports say Lawson walked out of the store without paying for the item. The store owner immediately notified the police about the incident.
Witnesses stated that after leaving, the ex-player opened the bottle and began drinking right on the street, then entered a nearby restaurant and took a seat at the bar. Eyewitnesses said Lawson appeared intoxicated and could barely stand.
After being detained, he was taken to the Douglas County jail. According to police records, while being processed, the athlete insulted an officer, kicked the glass partition of his cell, shouted various phrases, and spat on the floor.
Later, as noted by the New York Post, Ty Lawson calmed down and apologized to the police officers for his behavior.
