Carrick has found Shaw's replacement. United preparing a £55 million transfer
Manchester United could make a move for Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies, who is being considered as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw. According to Give Me Sport, the Munich club are ready to part ways with the Canadian, but will demand a substantial fee for him.
Head coach Michael Carrick wanted to strengthen the left-back position as early as the summer, but the Red Devils were unable to address the need. There is still a shortage of experienced options on the flank: Shaw continues to struggle with injuries, while Patrick Dorgu is not entirely comfortable playing in that position.
According to Fussball News, Bayern expect to receive around €60–65 million for Davies, with the final fee potentially including bonuses. The upper end of that range equates to approximately £55 million.
Davies is 25 years old, and his contract with the German club runs until 2030. The Canadian has already won the German championship seven times and lifted the Champions League trophy. His pace and physical attributes are considered among his greatest strengths.
