Cameroon coach David Pagou on clash against Bafana Bafana: The odds are favourable towards Bafana Bafana more than us given their Afcon pedigree
David Pagou describes Bafana Bafana as both strong and stubborn.
The Indomitable Lions coach believes that odds are heavily stacked against them ahead of their clash with Bafana in Rabat on Sunday evening.
Pagou’s belief in that Bafana is simply because of how Hugo Broos’ men performed in Ivory Coast in the previous competition.
Bafana finished third in West Africa, a feat which was not expected from them as they were still in the rebuilding phase.
“We are satisfied because we qualified. During the last Africa Cup of Nations, South Africa had a very good run. They will be under pressure because we are a team in the making. It will be a very complicated match,” said Pagou.
“We know South Africa are strong and stubborn opponents. They have a competitive domestic league and players who know each other very well, so the match will be complicated.
“We will play to our strengths and try to make things difficult for them. The goal is to show up strongly and deliver a good performance.”
The match starts at 9pm in Rabat.
