Champions League: TP Mazembe threaten to take the matter to CAF following incidents in Tunis
Whilst on a trip to Tunisia to face Club Africain on Sunday 25 October in the second leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, TP Mazembe has expressed concern over events that took place on the evening of Tuesday 20 October.
In a statement published on social media, the Lubumbashi-based club claims that Club Africain supporters gathered outside its hotel at around 10 pm, with the aim of disturbing its players’ rest.
In light of this situation, TP Mazembe has not ruled out taking the matter to the CAF.
“In an attempt to disturb the sleep of the TP Mazembe players in Tunis, Club Africain supporters gathered on Tuesday 20 October, at around 10 pm, outside the hotel where the Congolese delegation is staying.
“For more than ten minutes, firecrackers and fireworks rang out near the hotel, disturbing the peace on the eve of this important African fixture.
“TP Mazembe reserves the right to refer the matter to CAF.”
