Brentford and Lens have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Mamadou Sangare

The Malian international is close to joining the English club and is expected to undergo a medical soon.

Mamadou Sangare is set to join the Premier League this summer transfer window. The Malian midfielder is on the verge of leaving RC Lens for Brentford.

His transfer appears to be taking shape. Brentford and RC Lens have reached a verbal agreement, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.

The fee is around £41m. The deal also includes a sell-on clause. Mamadou Sangare’s medical is reportedly scheduled for today.

The 24-year-old Malian international is expected to sign a five-season contract, running until 2031. If the transfer goes through, Mamadou Sangare is set to become Brentford’s most expensive signing of all time.

The Malian midfielder enjoyed an impressive 2025–2026 season with RC Lens. He was named the best African player in the French league, winning the 2026 Marc-Vivien Foé Award.
