Brazilian Clubs Earn Massive Prizes After Club World Cup Group Stage

Brazilian sides have already cashed in big at the 2025 Club World Cup. According to R7.com, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Botafogo, and Fluminense each earned $15.21 million (around R$ 83.1 million) just for qualifying. But as results came in, the prize pool soared—outstripping earnings from domestic titles like the Copa do Brasil or the Brasileirão.
Flamengo topped the list, banking R$ 152.1 million after wins against Espérance and Chelsea and a crucial draw against LAFC thanks to a goal from Wallace Yan. That single campaign already surpassed the combined prize for winning both of Brazil's top competitions.
Botafogo also had a strong group stage, collecting R$ 146.6 million from victories over PSG and Seattle Sounders. A last-minute loss to Atlético Madrid denied them an additional R$ 5.5 million. Next, they face Palmeiras in an all-Brazilian clash in the round of 16, where the winner will collect another US$ 13.12 million (R$ 72.7 million).
Palmeiras matched Botafogo’s total earnings. They collected bonuses from a draw with Porto, a win over Al Ahly, and another draw against Inter Miami. Fluminense reached the same prize total, securing draws against Borussia Dortmund and Mamelodi Sundowns and a convincing win over Ulsan Hyundai.
In just a few matches, these Brazilian giants have pulled in more money than a full domestic season would offer. With the knockout rounds beginning, the financial stakes are only getting higher.
