Former Liverpool player Andy Carroll, now playing for French club Bordeaux in the 4th Division, is not one to flaunt his status. The former Premier League star has bonded well with his much less high-profile teammates and even occasionally cooks for them at team gatherings, The Sun reports.
“I might go for a Christmas theme or do a proper old-school Whitley Bay fish and chips, with homemade beer batter and tartar sauce. I really enjoy cooking,” the Englishman shared.
Carroll also enjoys going to restaurants with his teammates and spending quality time with them, even though almost none of them speak English!
Additionally, Andy has found a way to regularly fly from Bordeaux to London for just 19 euros. He revealed that his best friend works as a pilot for easyJet, which allows him to travel home cheaply to see his children.
It's worth recalling that in 2011, Liverpool bought Carroll from Newcastle for £35 million, making him the most expensive British player at the time. However, Carroll struggled to make an impact at Anfield and was eventually sold in 2013.
