The Algerian club secured a 3-1 victory over the South Africans on Sunday 8 November at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.

USM Alger got off to a flying start. As early as the 4th minute, Zakaria Draoui opened the scoring (1-0). But Mamelodi Sundowns struck back in the 25th minute. Iqraam Rayners levelled the score by converting a penalty (1-1).

Coach Lamine N’Diaye’s side, however, wasted no time in regaining the lead. In the 37th minute, Saadi Radouani found the back of the net to put the Algerians back in front (2-1). The Algerian side thus went into the break with a one-goal lead.

The start of the second half was then delayed due to the weather conditions. After this interruption, both teams were finally able to return to the pitch. USM Alger took the opportunity to extend their lead. In the 55th minute, Ahmed Khaldi scored the Algerian side’s third goal (3-1).

Despite their attempts to get back into the game, Mamelodi Sundowns were unable to turn the situation around. The South African side eventually lost 3-1.
