Boom! Elon Musk could buy a Premier League club
Elon Musk has unexpectedly emerged as a potential candidate to take over one of the Premier League's historic clubs.
Details: Former Everton defender Michael Ball has publicly urged Elon Musk to purchase the Merseyside club. On October 9, Ball took to X to encourage the billionaire to renew his rivalry with Jeff Bezos, who recently became one of Liverpool's investors.
The appeal comes after Everton officially confirmed that its owners, The Friedkin Group, are exploring new investment opportunities, including the potential sale of a controlling stake in the club. The American group acquired Everton in December 2024 and has now appointed investment bank Moelis & Company to oversee the process.
The situation has attracted additional attention because of recent developments at Liverpool. In August 2026, a consortium involving Amazon founder Jeff Bezos acquired a 38% stake in the Reds from Fenway Sports Group. Ball believes Musk could respond by entering the football business through Liverpool's biggest local rivals.
However, Ball's proposal remains nothing more than a public invitation. There is currently no confirmation that Musk is interested in buying Everton or has entered negotiations with the club's owners.
It is worth noting that Everton currently sit seventh in the Premier League with nine points from five matches. David Moyes' team remain unbeaten, having recorded two victories and three draws.
Reminder: Could the Liverpool club get a new owner?
