Barcelona has officially lodged a complaint with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) regarding the officiating of Martínez Munuera in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal against Atlético Madrid.

According to Marca, the decision to file the complaint was made after discussions the day following the match, in which Barcelona suffered a crushing 0-4 defeat.

The club’s legal team prepared a document in which Barcelona protests the disallowed goal by Cubarsí early in the second half, as well as inconsistent application of the rules when issuing cards, including the late sending off of Eric García. The complaint consists of five key points: inconsistency in disciplinary decisions; contradictory criteria regarding handball in the penalty area; repeated refereeing errors; the use and transparency of VAR; and the criteria for reviewing incidents on the monitor.

In its statement, the club calls for the full release of all VAR audio that influenced the disallowed Cubarsí goal, and urges the creation of a code of ethics and discipline for referees to ensure transparency and fairness in competitions.
