Bafana Bafana goalkeeper coach Grant Johnson: I am hoping for few errors from Ronwen Williams in goals against Cameroon today
Grant Johnson expects Ronwen Williams to make fewer errors this evening when Bafana Bafana face Cameroon.
This titanic Africa Cup of Nations last-16 encounter in Rabat sees the Bafana goalkeeper coach hoping that the erratic displays Williams dished in group stages will not be repeated this evening.
Bafana conceded in all their three Group B matches, two against Zimbabwe and a single goal against both Egypt and Angola.
Those four goals would have been avoided had Williams been fully focused in those games.
"Hopefully lessons have been learned, and that we're not going to make the same mistakes, particularly against Zimbabwe," said Johnson.
Johnson has Williams, Ricardo Goss and Sipho Chaine in Morocco as Bafana goalkeepers but the Mamelodi Sundowns man is currently the first choice.
His experience above Goss and Chaine makes him the preferred goal-minder.
While it will be the first time in this 35th edition of the Afcon Bafana play in Rabat against Cameroon, Johnson said they are familiar with the facility having played Morocco there before.
"We're looking forward to be playing in Rabat - we have played there before against Morocco," he said.
The game starts at 9pm.
