Arsenal Still Winless in 2025 and Sinking Toward Relegation

Arsenal de Sarandí’s season continues to spiral. On Sunday, they drew 1-1 at home against Deportivo Madryn in the 16th round of Argentina’s Primera Nacional, extending their winless streak through all of 2025. As reported by TyC Sports, the team now has nine draws, seven losses, and just nine points in Group A. Gonzalo Klusener gave Arsenal an early lead, but Federico Recalde’s equalizer sealed another frustrating result for the struggling side.
The decline is both statistical and psychological. In 2024, Arsenal stood in 11th place at this stage, just one point outside the playoff spots. A disastrous second half saw them slide into a relegation fight they narrowly escaped with a final-round win over Alvarado. This year, that very same team will be their next opponent—and another direct rival in the battle to avoid relegation.
With 9 and 13 points respectively, Arsenal and Alvarado currently occupy the bottom two places, while Güemes and All Boys sit just above. With one match left in the first half of the season, the relegation picture is already taking shape.
Since dropping from the top division in 2023, Arsenal have played 54 matches in Primera Nacional, winning only nine, drawing 22, and losing 23. Their attack has managed just 30 goals while conceding 56. Alarmingly, they remain the only club across all Argentine divisions yet to win a match this calendar year.
