On May 18th, the boxing world awaits the most significant event of the year, poised to be one of the foremost sporting spectacles overall. In the ring in Saudi Arabia, Alexander Usyk and Tyson Fury will collide to determine the undisputed heavyweight world champion. The Ukrainian will put his WBA, WBO, and IBF belts on the line, while the Briton risks his sole championship belt according to the WBC.

The upcoming event captivates the attention of many, including another British boxer, former heavyweight champion across various organizations, Anthony Joshua. During his conversation with TalkSport, he was asked to give his prediction for the upcoming fight. Joshua chose not to evade the question and, drawing solely from personal experience, leaned towards one athlete:

"I've fought Usyk, so I can only speak to what I've experienced with him. He's a phenomenal fighter; I would say he's doing really good work.

I've never fought Fury, so I can't speak to what it's like to face him. If I'm just talking about what I know, I'd have to say Usyk will win."

It's worth noting that it was Alexander Usyk who defeated Joshua in 2021 and took away his championship belts. The bout lasted all twelve rounds, after which Usyk was awarded the victory by unanimous decision. The following year, the Briton attempted to seek revenge against Usyk but also lost to him by a unanimous decision, though this time split.

Tyson Fury will be the fifth British boxer that Alexander Usyk encounters in his professional career. Tony Bellew was defeated in his first heavyweight bout, and in the heavyweight division, besides Joshua, the Ukrainian triumphed over Dereck Chisora and Daniel Dubois.
