Another footballer is leaving Roma as a free agent

Roma wing-back Leonardo Spinazzola has announced that he is leaving the club as a free agent.

He wrote a long post on his Instagram page thanking the fans and people who worked with him at Roma.

"Dear Roma fans, it is with a mixture of emotion and sadness that I write this message to say goodbye to you. After the unforgettable experience I have had here, it is time to say goodbye to Rome.

Together we have rejoiced and wept, triumphed and suffered. Together we touched the sky in Tirana (the capital of Albania, where Roma won the Conference League final in the 2021/22 season - ed.), together we woke up after nights like the one in Budapest (the 2022/23 Europa League final, in which Roma lost - ed.).

During my time in Rome, I also had the honour of winning the European Championship with the Italian national team. I experienced moments of joy and pride that will always remain in my memory.

But I also faced some difficult moments. In these dark moments, I always felt your support. You gave me the strength to fight to come back stronger than before. Every time I stepped out on the pitch, I fought and gave it my all for those colours. Rome will always be in my heart.

I am proud to have contributed to the development of the club, to have brought Rome and Roma back to the biggest stages in Europe, to have given my all on the pitch and to have shared moments of joy and suffering with you.

I would like to thank every single person who has been part of my journey here. From teammates to coaching staff to fans. Each of you has contributed to this unique experience. Thank you for supporting me, encouraging me and making me feel like part of your family.

It will be recalled that the legendary Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio left Roma.
