AFCON 2025: Sadio Mané set to equal or break Samuel Eto'o's record

Sadio Mané is racking up the goals in the Africa Cup of Nations. If he plays a decisive role in the final against Morocco on Sunday 18 January, the Senegalese player will equal or break a record set by the legendary Samuel Eto'o.

Mané has contributed to 20 goals since his debut in the Africa Cup of Nations. He has scored 11 goals and provided 9 assists, making him the most decisive player in the tournament since 2010.

With these achievements, the Senegalese striker has his sights set on Samuel Eto'o's record. The former Indomitable Lion had a total of 21 contributions in the continental tournament before hanging up his boots. Eto'o has a total of 18 goals and 3 assists with Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations.

If Sadio Mané manages to score a goal or deliver an assist in the 2025 AFCON final against Morocco on Sunday 18 January, he will equal the former Cameroonian striker's tally. If the Senegalese player does more than that, he will break Samuel Eto'o's all-time record.
