Former Manchester City midfielder Cole Palmer wanted to go out on loan, but the "Citizens" issued an ultimatum, as reported by Sky Sports.

According to sources, Palmer did not desire a permanent transfer but wanted to go on loan. However, his former club, Manchester City, presented an ultimatum, stating that Palmer either stays or gets sold. Consequently, the English midfielder joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023.

It is reasonable to recall that Palmer had been part of Manchester City's football academy since the age of eight. He made his first-team debut for City on September 30, 2020, in a match against Burnley in the English Football League Cup. On August 21, 2021, he made his Premier League debut in a match against Norwich City.

On September 1, 2023, Palmer moved to Chelsea for £40 million, signing a seven-year contract with the "Blues."

In an EFL Cup match, Palmer missed an incredible opportunity when Enzo Fernández's shot was parried by the Middlesbrough goalkeeper, and from a few meters away, Palmer failed to hit the open goal.
