A blow for Barcelona. Official: Marcus Rashford to miss Atlético clash due to injury
The English winger has suffered a knee injury and will be forced to miss the semi-final match.
Details: Tomorrow in Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium, Catalan side Barcelona will play the Copa del Rey semi-final against local rivals Atlético, but they’ll have to do so without two of their key players.
Today, Barcelona’s official X (formerly Twitter) account announced that 28-year-old winger Marcus Rashford will not be available for the match due to a knee injury sustained in the game against Mallorca last Saturday.
In addition to Rashford, Barcelona also cannot count on Raphinha, who is still recovering from an injury he picked up two weeks ago.
This means Hansi Flick faces a major selection headache as he looks to solve the attacking crisis for the Blaugrana.
This season, Rashford has made 34 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists. His loan deal with the Catalan club runs until the summer, and unless Barcelona exercise their buy option, the winger will return to Manchester United.
Reminder: Raphinha will not help Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final against Atlético
