2027 AFCON Qualifiers: Cameroon equalise against Congo (1–1)

The Indomitable Lions fought back in the second half after falling behind in the 25th minute in Brazzaville.

The Red Devils had taken the lead against Cameroon in the first half of this match on matchday two of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. David Pagou’s side were caught off guard in the 25th minute by the Republic of the Congo at the Alphonse-Massamba-Debat Stadium in Brazzaville.

Geltany Bantsiele had opened the scoring to give the Red Devils the lead. But Cameroon’s response came just after the break. Aboubakar Nagida launched a solo run that forced Melvin Zinga to score an own goal, levelling the score for Cameroon in the 53rd minute to make it 1–1.

The Indomitable Lions had thus levelled the score and the battle was back on at the Alphonse-Massamba-Debat Stadium in Brazzaville. But despite this equaliser, Cameroon will need to show character against Congo, who are playing at home.
