In the German town of Ruhpolding, as part of the fifth stage of the Biathlon World Cup, the men's sprint race took place today.

The best time was demonstrated by the Norwegian Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen, who covered the 10 km distance in 22 minutes and 27 seconds, not missing a single shot during the shooting. The Italian athlete Tommaso Giacomel finished almost 17 seconds behind him, and he, along with Tarjei Boe, stood on the podium. Tarjei's brother, Johannes Thingnes, showed the ninth result, trailing the winner by more than 40 seconds, leaving Boe Jr. with good chances in tomorrow's pursuit.

Tomorrow, both men and women will participate in pursuit races, after which the athletes will head to Antholz, Italy, where the sixth stage of the World Cup will take place.
