As the Leopards prepare to face Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates at the World Cup this Wednesday, 17 June, the French manager has reassured everyone that his team is ready to rise to the challenge.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo are playing their first match of the current World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Congolese side will face Portugal in Group K. But ahead of this clash, Sébastien Desabre appeared calm and confident.

At a press conference, the DR Congo manager first gave reassuring updates regarding his squad. However, Sébastien Desabre is aware of the scale of the challenge facing his players against Portugal. Nevertheless, the French manager refuses to make this match his sole focus. For him, qualification will be decided over the course of the entire group stage.

“Everyone one hundred percent fit. We’re not under any particular pressure; it’s just one of the three matches we have to play. Our aim is to secure three or four points to progress to the next round. We’re playing against one of the best teams in the world, and we can’t wait to get started. We’ll play to our strengths; we’ve got what it takes to make our mark on the pitch.”
