Who is the Man of the Match in Portugal’s 1-1 Draw Against DR Congo?
João Neves has been named Man of the Match following Portugal’s 1-1 draw against DR Congo in their opening 2026 FIFA World Cup group-stage fixture.
Portugal initially took the lead through Neves, who finished off a well-worked move to put his side ahead in the early minutes of the first half.
However, DR Congo responded a few seconds before the break, with Yoane Wissa rising highest to head home an equaliser and make history by scoring his country’s first-ever World Cup goal.
Despite the draw, Neves stood out as the most influential player on the pitch and was deservedly awarded Man of the Match for his performance.
