Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has insisted Nigeria remain focused on the knockout rounds of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations despite being named CAF’s Best Coach of the Group Stage. Nigeria won all three group matches in Morocco, collecting nine points against Tanzania, Tunisia and Uganda to finish with a perfect record. They scored eight goals through six players.

The Franco-Malian was honoured on Friday, but the award has not shifted attention from the task ahead against Mozambique in the round of 16. Ademola Lookman was also named in the CAF Group Stage Best XI.

“I am happy about this recognition,” Chelle said… adding that credit belongs to his staff.

He stressed, “However, this is not why we are here… We are here for something bigger and better.”
