AFCON 2025: NFF Confirms Osimhen and Lookman Dispute Is Resolved

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the brief on-field disagreement between Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman has been fully resolved.

The incident occurred during Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 clash against Mozambique on Monday and quickly became a talking point among fans and media. However, officials have moved to shut down speculation of any internal crisis within the squad.

Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe, speaking via the team’s official media channel, explained that the issue was handled internally and should not be blown out of proportion.

“The matter has been resolved within the team. We advise everyone to ignore all reports suggesting otherwise,” Efoghe stated.

With harmony restored in the camp, Nigeria’s attention now turns to the quarter-finals of the competition. The Super Eagles will face Algeria next after the North Africans secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over DR Congo after extra time in Marrakesh on Saturday.
