Nigeria’s Super Eagles stormed into the AFCON 2025 quarter-finals tonight, thrashing Mozambique 4-0 in Fez. The three-time champions maintained their perfect record, becoming the first side to score four goals in a match this tournament.
Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute before setting up Victor Osimhen five minutes later. Osimhen added his second shortly after halftime, assisted again by a tireless Lookman. Despite a brief on-field spat between the two stars in the 65th minute, Nigeria remained clinical. Akor Adams sealed the victory in the 75th minute, finishing Lookman’s third assist of the night.
With 12 goals in four matches, Eric Chelle’s side also secured their first tournament clean sheet. Nigeria now awaits the winner of tomorrow’s Algeria vs. DR Congo clash in the next round.
