WAFCON 2026: Cameroon welcome back Gisele Marie Ngah Manga ahead of their clash with Nigeria

The Cameroonian striker, who has scored three goals in the tournament, has resumed training and could be available for the quarter-final clash scheduled for Sunday 9 August in Casablanca.

The Cameroonian striker had caused concern after leaving the pitch injured during the Indomitable Lionesses’ victory over Ghana’s Black Queens on matchday two of Group D at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is taking place in Morocco. However, subsequent medical examinations proved reassuring and any concerns now appear to have been completely allayed.

Gisele Marie Ngah Manga has rejoined Valentine Nguele’s squad and trained with her team-mates following the final group stage match against Cape Verde (1–1). Her return is welcome news for Cameroon, who will once again be able to count on their striker as the tournament enters its decisive phase.

The Indomitable Lionesses face Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Sunday 9 August at 5 pm GMT. Against the reigning African champions, Gisele Marie Ngah Manga’s presence will be crucial for Cameroon in the quarter-finals.
