Valour FC have officially signed Canadian midfielder Kianz Froese for the rest of the 2025 Canadian Premier League season, with an option to extend into 2026. As canpl.ca reported, the 29-year-old returns to his hometown of Winnipeg after a decade-long professional career across Canada and Germany.

“Coming home to Winnipeg feels full circle,” Froese said. “I’m proud to bring everything I’ve learned back to this community and help move the club forward.” Known for his versatility, Froese can operate as both an attacking midfielder and a forward, adding valuable depth to Valour’s lineup.

Froese began his pro career with Vancouver Whitecaps, scoring his first MLS goal in a win over the New York Red Bulls in 2015. He later moved to Germany, playing for Fortuna Düsseldorf, FC Saarbrücken, and most recently Wehen Wiesbaden, where he played 22 matches in the 2. Bundesliga after helping secure promotion.

Internationally, Froese first played for Cuba at the U-17 level before switching to Canada. He featured in the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup and debuted for the senior national team in 2014 against Ghana, earning a second cap against the United States shortly after.

“This is a big moment for our club,” said head coach Phillip Dos Santos. “Kianz brings experience, versatility, and a strong connection to the community. He’s here to compete and win for Winnipeg.”

Valour also confirmed that midfielder Dante Campbell will miss the rest of the 2025 season due to a knee injury and has been placed on the inactive list.
